What Is TikTok?
TikTok is one of the most popular social media apps on the market currently, and it has rapidly risen to the top of the charts over the past couple of years. The app has taken on a variety of styles and functions over the years, but it’s at the peak of its popularity in its current form.
TikTok users create accounts through which they create and post video content. The audio clips from videos can be reused to create videos from other creators, which is how some audios become popular and end up creating trends.
While TikTok appeals to a broad range of users, the primary demographic is young people between the ages of 16 and 24. From users who create content for their friends to view, to those who create content that is closely viewed by millions, all the way to those who only have accounts to watch the videos posted by others, each TikTok user has a different relationship with the app.
Some users are particularly popular, though, and these are the creators who become TikTok influencers. The top three influencers on the app currently are Charli D’amelio (@charlidamelio) with 113.9 million followers, Addison Re (@addisonre) with 26.5 million followers, and Zach King (@zachking) with 59.1 million followers.
While these three creators are anomalies, being the most popular on the app, it’s possible for anyone to boost their TikTok game in order to gain popularity and followers. If you’re wondering what changes you can make to enhance your TikTok account, keep reading!
Go Viral on TikTok with these TikTok for Fame Tips!
1. Learn From The Influencers
Since we just discussed a few of the top users on the app, now we want to share how you can use their examples to get ahead. TikTok influencers already have the formula for how to go viral right on their profiles; you just need to know what you’re looking for.
When looking to learn from successful TikTokers, first use a TikTok search engine to find influencers within your niche. This is important because you’ll want to make sure you’re targeting the correct audience.
Since TikTok appeals to such a variety of users, it’s crucial to make sure your content is appropriately targeted at the right set of people. For example, the influencer @thispronto is one of the most popular creators within the food niche on the app, with 9.5 million followers.
This user creates food-related content that has drawn in a mass following. His videos display unique recipes that are fun to watch in action, such as those displayed above.
After identifying the influencers within your niche, look at their content and see which posts have the highest engagement and views. Are they following a certain trend of using a popular sound? That may be why that video was so successful.
We suggest first noting the trends, sounds, filters and hashtags that they use. Then, figure out how to incorporate these aspects into your own content. Before you start this process, let’s dive deeper into each of the tools mentioned above.

2. TikTok Trends
TikTok is known for cycling through trends that rise in popularity for brief periods of time before being replaced by the next trends.
Trends refer to a particular style of video that many people create, each putting their own spin on the trend.
This may apply to an audio that everyone is using at a given time, but pairing with their own visual ideas. Or, a TikTok trend may be a dance that rises in popularity and everyone wants to create.

Here are five of the most popular trends on TikTok right now:
1. Workout Motivation
This trend is probably pretty self-explanatory, but many users are currently posting videos of their own motivations to work out and pairing these videos with the hashtag #WorkoutMotivation.
This trend serves to give TikTok users an outlet through which they can share their own workout motivations and provide motivation to others.
@msslwht It amazes me that I still feel like I constantly have to do it. #weightlosstransformation #shirtpull #300lbslost #vsg #workout #bodypositivity #planetfitness #msslwht #bodydysmorphia #asitwas ♬ As It Was – Harry Styles
2. Dramatic Story
Another current trend on the app is posting a video that displays the creator’s internal debate over a given issue or tells a story that includes lots of twists and turns.
These videos are then paired with the hashtag #DramaticStory, and fellow users enjoy hearing the shocking stories of the creators who post these.

3. Pesto Eggs
TikTok for fame trends commonly take on the form of creative or original recipe ideas, and one of the most popular recipes at the present moment is cooking eggs with pesto. These videos are typically paired with the hashtag #PestoEggs.
Once TikTok users caught wind of this fun recipe, everyone began trying it out, and the food hack quickly became a trend. Now, it seems as though all creators on TikTok want to try the breakfast idea and create their own twist on the pesto eggs.

4. Meet The Group
This trend also commonly takes on the form of a hashtag, #MeetTheGroup. In this trend, users introduce their own personal “group,” no matter how that may look.

5. Teachers of TikTok
Ever since quarantine introduced us to online school, TikTok has loved seeing short glimpses into the lives of teachers of all ages of students.
Now that some schools are back in session, the hashtag #TeachersOfTikTok is sometimes paired with videos taken inside the classroom, while other times featuring moments experienced by teachers who are in virtual school.
3. TikTok Sounds
Like we mentioned before, TikTok for fame thrives on its audio feature. It’s common for users to pair their own visual content with existing audio clips that become popular for periods of time.
Here are some of the currently trending sounds on the app:
1. “Slipping Through My Fingers”
From ‘Mamma Mia!’ Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
TikTok creators are currently using a sound clip from a song in the movie Mamma Mia! to be paired with stories that are typically sad or heartwarming.
These videos are typically tearjerkers, whether these tears are happy or sad, so watch out if you go down the rabbit hole of viewing this trend!
2. “WHOLE LOTTA MONEY”
Clips from the song “WHOLE LOTTA MONEY” are trending currently as background music for a variety of videos. There’s no specific trend following these videos, so the song can be paired with any type of video.
This is not uncommon for TikTok audio trends – songs can be paired with DIY videos, cooking demonstrations, dancing videos, or cute videos of animals…the list goes on.
3. “Poison” By Bell Biv DeVoe
As we explained earlier, TikTok primarily appeals to young users in their teens and early twenties. However, this doesn’t mean that the older generations are not commonly involved in video creation.
In this particular trend, young TikTok users post videos of their parents when the song “Poison” was released, accompanied by an audio clip from the song.
4. “Hope” By Twista Featuring Faith Evans
TikTok users are currently using the song “Hope” with a visual trend not unlike what is seen at the end of movies and are often relatable or funny in nature.
The TikToks that are created using the audio typically begin by showing a person making a statement. The video then pauses and facts appear on the screen explaining that the original statement didn’t end up holding true.
5. “bury a friend” By Billie Eilish
The song “bury a friend” by Billie Eilish was released a couple of years ago and was highly popular at the time. But now it has returned to popularity as a TikTok trend.
The TikToks that are created with this sound typically show a transition between before and after the creator gets ready by doing their hair and/or putting on makeup.
4. TikTok Effects
TikTok for fame also relies upon filters and influence greatly the rise and fall in popularity as creators come up with creative ways to utilize the visual effects available on the app. Here are the filters that users are loving right now:
1. Green Screen
One popular visual effect that is being used for a variety of TikTok trends is the “Green Screen” effect. By using this filter, creators can insert any background into their video while having only their face and/or body from the original video remain on the screen.
Users can also use this feature to show only the photo they upload with nothing in front of it.
2. Color Customizer
Using the “Color Customizer” feature, TikTok creators can add specified color filters to their videos. Users can select a color and tone for their video, which will then be applied to the visuals in the TikTok.
3. Green Screen Video
Similar to the “Green Screen” effect, the “Green Screen Video” filter gives creators the ability to upload their own videos into the background of the video content they create. This is different from the original “Green Screen” filter, which allows users to insert images as the backgrounds for their TikToks.
4. Bling Bling
This fun filter is popular at the moment for a variety of styles of videos. True to its name, the “Bling Bling” filter adds glitter effects to various focal points in videos.
5. Portrait
Another self-explanatory filter, this video effect blurs the background of videos, emphasizing the creator’s face or any other primary focus in the TikTok.

Hashtags are, of course, one of the most important elements in the process of rising in popularity on any social media app. And, TikTok is no exception.
Popular TikTok creators and influencers are strategic with the hashtags they use, and you should be too. Here are some trending TikTok hashtags you should know:
1. #BehindThisDoor
This hashtag is used with a trend in which people show themselves opening a door to reveal something that is considered frightening and unexpected, typically in a joking way.

2. #Mosaic
A popular trend on TikTok at the moment is one in which users make videos telling the world about themselves. More specifically, the creators share quirks or aspects of their personalities that are inspired by the people who have influenced their lives.
The videos often end with the explanation that each person is a mosaic of those around them, which explains the accompanying hashtag.
3. #CarTok
This hashtag describes the niche of TikTok in which users create content focused on all things related to cars.
Whether creators are posting videos about car brands, mechanics or decorations, the hashtag #CarTok is likely to be included.
4. #WNBAIsBack
With the recent kickoff of the Women’s NBA season, the hashtag #WNBAIsBack is currently trending. The hashtag is being used by official organizations, famous professionals, and fans alike, and its versatility has made it go viral.
5. #FashionSchool
Another hashtag that has gone viral on TikTok is #FashionSchool which is another fairly self-explanatory trend. Professionals and exports in the fashion industry are using this hashtag to accompany videos giving fashion tips to followers.
6. Partner With Influencers
While you can learn from just studying their accounts, TikTok influencers are also great to work with if you want to go viral. This may sound difficult to do, but there are tools available to help you.

7. Have A Unique Take On A Popular Trend
We talked a lot about the various trends that rise and fall on TikTok earlier in this blog, but the key to using trends to your advantage is coming up with a unique version of the trend to create.
Whether this is a unique and funny visual to accompany a trending audio or an especially relatable take on a popular trend/hashtag, try to come up with content that stands out among the rest while still fitting within a popular trend. Following the trend will help you to be seen, and making your content creative will help you to capture users’ attention.
8. Teach Them Something New
TikTok for fame users love to learn new things on the app, whether this is from an educational account or a different style of account that’s sharing hacks or unique recommendations.
So, no matter what kind of account you run, don’t be afraid to share fun facts or useful tips and tricks if you learn something new. TikTok users love to find and try various life hacks, so this can be a great way to gain attention.

9. TikTok For Fame: Encourage Engagement
One of the most important aspects of achieving fame on TikTok is boosting your account’s engagement rates. So, try to do all that you can to promote a “community” feel on your account, such as asking a question in your video or bringing up a topic that encourages discussion.
TikTok will see the comments generated by your video and assume that our content is something people are interested in putting in front of more users. This will help your account to be promoted to more users by the TikTok algorithm.
And, of course, the more viewers that see your video, the more engagement you will receive. This will make your account even more popular and help you to gain even more followers, eventually helping you to use your TikTok for fame.
10. Study The For You Page
As we’ve mentioned, TikTok appeals to a very broad range of users, meaning there’s a niche for everyone. This means that every person’s For You Page #fyp is different, so you need to decide who is your target audience.
In other words, determine which people you want to get your content in front of. Once you’ve figured out your niche, your content should be very specific in order to ensure that TikTok knows who to place your content in front of.
While it’s important to follow trends, make sure that you do so in a way that’s unique to your branding and your niche. If your content is too generic, you risk having it get lost among other videos that are similar to it. This will cause your content to not stand out, which is a common pitfall that will stand in the way of using your TikTok for fame.
